Responsibilities
Primary Duties:
- Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency.
- Confer with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications,
manufacturing capabilities, and project status.
- Demonstrate effective organizational skills and handling multiple tasks independently with limited supervision.
- Support for all plant safety initiatives.
- Instigate studies and actions to resolve technical problems, reduce waste and improve team performance.
- Assist with mechanical improvements through TPM, P.M., and Capital Expenditure Projects.
- Maintain/update mechanical and site drawings thru the preferred CAD package.
- Assist in the commissioning of new plant and equipment and other systems to ensure that the introduction into the
production facility is handled efficiently and within minimum disruption.
- Lead studies and actions to improve the efficiency of the plant facility service area and maintain plant assets.
- Guarantee that process standards correspond to the plant’s objectives, costs and supply in order to meet the needs of the
customer.
- Some travel may be required, approx twice per year may be required.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
2. 7+ years related experience, automotive manufacturing an asset
3. Strong computer skills (All MS Office programs, CAD)
4. Excellent communication and human relation skills. Also well developed interpersonal skills, verbal and written
5. Self Motivated Individual capable of multi-tasking and working well under pressure
