We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead our Mechanical Engineering Department. In this key leadership role, you will oversee a team of designers and engineers, driving the successful delivery of projects from concept through production. This position requires strategic oversight, cross-functional collaboration, and effective project management to align with the company’s objectives and support its continued growth.

Responsibilities
Oversee the design and analysis of mechanical systems, components, and subsystems to ensure they meet specified standards and customer requirements.
Provide technical guidance to team members throughout the design, development, and testing of mechanical components or systems.
Use CAD software and engineering tools to design and enhance mechanical systems.
Supervise and assess prototype testing to determine performance, safety, and reliability; analyze data and develop improvements.
Lead engineering projects across the full lifecycle, including requirements gathering, budgeting, scheduling, and cross-departmental coordination.
Implement programs that support team training, standardization, and continuous process improvements.
Collaborate with internal teams to identify new product or project opportunities.
Stay current with new technologies, processes, and trends, integrating relevant innovations into department operations.
Conduct team performance reviews, deliver constructive feedback, and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
Champion professional growth by facilitating learning and development opportunities.
Manage the engineering budget by forecasting, tracking, and reporting on expenditures.
Ensure efficient allocation of personnel and resources to meet project objectives.
Work closely with departments such as manufacturing, project management, quality assurance, and supply chain to ensure effective project delivery.
Provide stakeholders and leadership with regular updates on project status, risks, and technical challenges.
Troubleshoot and resolve engineering defects or design issues to uphold product quality and reliability standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
P. Eng. is preferred.
10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, including at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Solid understanding of stampings, press tooling, sheet metal, materials, and die design.
Demonstrated success managing engineering teams and delivering complex technical projects.
Proven ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously with strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving capabilities.
