Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment, specifically focusing on components and systems that are below or part of the main structural frame of the vehicle (typically a heavy truck or piece of equipment).
Diagnose mechanical issues and propose effective solutions for frame rails, axles, suspension, and other under-chassis components.
Repair or replace faulty components located below the main structural frame.
Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles and equipment meet safety standards, with particular attention to the integrity of the frame and its attached systems.
Keep detailed records of all work performed, including repairs related to frame rails, axles, and suspension.
Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot complex problems related to the vehicle's structural integrity and undercarriage.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Mechanic, with a strong focus on heavy trucks or equipment.
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
Strong mechanical knowledge, particularly concerning frame rails, axles, suspension, and other components below the main structural frame.
Certification from a vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship program is a plus.
Strong independent skills
