Metallurgy and Heat Treat Operations Lead

Responsibilities
- Direct daily heat treating operations and thermal processing cycles for high-precision steel tooling and industrial cutting components.
- Oversee thermal recipe execution, hardening, tempering, and quality testing to maintain tight metallurgical specifications.
- Manage supplier relationships, order raw materials, and handle technical procurement for specialty steel and processing supplies.
- Conduct root cause analysis on material wear, grain structure, and tooling performance.
- Work directly with company leadership to streamline shop operations and transition into department oversight.

Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a background as a Machinist, or Toolmaker.
- Willingness and fast capacity to learn specialized heat treating, metallurgy, and thermal processing on the job.
- Experience or background in industrial heat treating, thermal processing, or raw material procurement is considered a strong asset.
- Practical, hands-on approach to equipment troubleshooting and shop floor operations.
- Resilience and comfort working in a physically demanding manufacturing environment.
