Responsibilities
Planning & Execution: Lead the planning and execution of audit projects in alignment with departmental standards and regulatory requirements.
Risk Assessment: Conduct insightful interviews with management to identify business unit risks and develop customized audit programs to evaluate them.
Fieldwork: Assess control effectiveness and perform detailed testing to ensure operational integrity.
Reporting & Presentation: Prepare high-quality audit reports, including executive summaries and value-added recommendations. Present findings to business units and navigate "contentious" issues to reach agreed-upon solutions.
Issue Management: Follow up on open audit issues through to resolution, ensuring management remains accountable for remediation.
External Audit Support: Complete assigned work to facilitate seamless year-end audits with External Auditors
Qualifications
Education: A University degree is required.
Professional Designation: Must hold a recognized accounting (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) or auditing (CIA) designation.
Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in internal/external audit or an equivalent business risk role.
Banking Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of banking operations and regulatory frameworks is a high-priority asset.
Methodology: Strong understanding of audit methodologies, project management, and control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
Communication: Exceptional oral and written communication skills; must be confident in interacting with clients and resolving conflict professionally.
Project Management: Proven ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver quality results on time and within budget.
