Step into a key role with an industry leader in rubber manufacturing! We are seeking a dedicated Industrial Mill Operator to join our team in Elora. In this critical, hands-on role, you will lead the raw material preparation process, setting the stage for smooth, bottleneck-free production across the plant. Responsibilities
- Material Processing: Roll, heat, and break down raw rubber compounds to achieve exact temperature and texture specifications.
- Line Support: Feed conditioned rubber directly into calender machines to maintain continuous production flow.
- Compound Preparation: Accurately blend raw ingredients on the mill following production routers and job sheets.
- Quality & Contamination Control: Perform regular batch inspections to ensure zero debris, impurities, or texture defects.
- Logistics & Documentation: Weigh rubber totes using industrial scales, apply inventory tags, and complete daily pre-start audits and quality logs.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Background operating industrial mills, calenders, or heavy processing machinery preferred (strong mechanical aptitude in general manufacturing is welcomed).
- Physical Capability: Ability to manage active physical tasks—including lifting, pushing, and manipulating rubber materials—during a 12-hour standing shift.
- Communication: Strong English literacy skills for reading production documentation and completing records.
- Certifications: Valid Overhead Crane Certification is a strong asset (training will be provided if needed).
