Responsibilities
• Conduct routine inspections of machinery, automation, and utilities to ensure proper function.
• Complete repairs and maintenance to machinery and utility systems as required.
• Perform troubleshooting on all mechanical and minor electrical systems to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Execute preventive maintenance programs on all manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime.
• Support production system output, providing on-call and after-hours assistance when necessary.
• Document daily maintenance and PM log reports, completing all required paperwork.
• Maintain and organize spare parts areas, ensuring adequate inventory is upheld.
• Conduct daily checks of utility systems and ensure equipment operates at key levels.
• Coordinate with external contractors for support assistance when needed.
• Collaborate with production departments to address concerns and participate in root cause corrections.
• Assist with tooling conversions and other operational tasks as required.
• Actively participate in and adhere to all Health and Safety programs and Company Rules.
• Ensure the plant is maintained to a high standard of housekeeping and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Promote and ensure adherence to all safety laws and regulations.
Qualifications
• Technical certification or training registration as an apprentice in an accredited Millwright program (433A certification is highly desirable).
• Proven experience in a high-speed manufacturing or plastics environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of machines, tools, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Excellent troubleshooting abilities to determine the causes of operating errors and implement solutions.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations without a calculator.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to speak, read, and write legibly in English.
• High degree of focus and attention to detail.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to prioritize and adapt to changing demands.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work a rotating schedule and assist with on-call activities and overtime
