Responsibilities
Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, and furnaces, according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system failures, and execute timely and effective repairs.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and detailed repair drawings related to machinery and equipment.
Operate rigging and lifting devices, such as cranes and hoists, to handle heavy machinery and parts safely.
Assemble and install equipment using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
Perform precision work, including fabricating parts and fitting bearings, to ensure machinery functions correctly.
Adhere strictly to all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols, to maintain a safe working environment.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
Collaborate with the operations team to identify opportunities for improving machine reliability and efficiency.
Qualifications
Must-Have Qualifications:
Possession of a valid Red Seal Millwright (433A) certification.
Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Ability to work the required afternoon shift: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
Physically capable of performing demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working in various environmental conditions.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to our Surrey, BC facility.
Core Skills & Experience:
Demonstrated experience as an Industrial Mechanic or Millwright in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Strong mechanical aptitude with an in-depth understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
Expertise in troubleshooting and repairing complex industrial machinery, with a strong emphasis on conveyor systems.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents, including blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
Skilled in using a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
Proficiency in welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) and metal fabrication techniques.
Personal Attributes:
A strong commitment to occupational health and safety, with a thorough understanding of relevant regulations and best practices.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
A versatile team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
