Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Troubleshooting: Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment including high-speed conveyors, automated sortation systems, gearboxes, and drive chains.
Hydraulics & Pneumatics: Maintain and repair hydraulic dock levelers, pneumatic actuators, and air compressors.
Welding & Fabrication: Perform onsite welding (MIG/TIG/Stick) and basic machining to repair or modify equipment components as needed.
Predictive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections, vibration analysis, and lubrication schedules to extend the life of critical machinery.
System Installations: Assist in the assembly, leveling, and alignment of new machinery and equipment upgrades.
Collaboration: Work closely with the electrical team to solve complex multi-disciplinary equipment issues.
Food Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict sanitation and "Clean-In-Place" protocols when working in temperature-controlled or food-grade storage areas.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills
Certification: Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) as an Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A).
Experience: 3+ years of experience in an industrial or automated warehouse setting.
Technical Proficiency:
Expertise in power transmission systems (bearings, shafts, belts, and pulleys).
Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and technical manuals.
Strong knowledge of rigging, hoisting, and moving heavy machinery.
Competency in various welding and metal fabrication techniques.
Work Environment: Comfortable working in multi-temperature environments (Dry, Cooler, and Freezer) and working from heights/elevated platforms.
Safety Mindset: Deep understanding of Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) and fall protection requirements.
