If so, we’d like to meet you. Our client, a well-established OEM Rail/Material handling & lifting equipment dealer, is seeking an experienced Field Mechanic (Mobile Road Technician) to service and repair specialized railcar mover equipment across Saskatchewan.
This is a fully remote, field-based role. You’ll be provided with a company service truck and will coordinate daily and weekly work orders with the Director based in Manitoba. From there, you’ll travel to various customer sites to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs. Depending on your location and schedule, travel may involve being on the road for several days or weeks at a time — with hotels, meals, and fuel fully covered.
Position: Full-time, direct hire
Schedule: Monday to Friday (with some overtime as required)
Environment: Field-based role with travel to customer sites
Wage: $43.00–$55.00/hr (based on experience and qualifications)

Responsibilities
What you’ll be doing:
- Perform on-site diagnostics, service, and repairs on OEM mobile railcar mover equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems, including Can Bus
- Plan, execute, and document all service work in line with OEM and safety standards
- Prepare accurate service and repair reports in a timely manner
- Maintain strong communication and relationships with customers
- Support special assignments and field service calls as needed
Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
- Valid Heavy Duty Technician License (or equivalent provincial certification)
- Valid Driver’s License and clean abstract
- Minimum 5 years of experience servicing and repairing heavy equipment (shop or field)
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic/troubleshooting skills
- Experience with Can Bus systems is a strong asset
- Ability to work independently, prioritize jobs, and communicate effectively with customers
- Must be clean-shaven or able to comply with facial hair policies for certain customer sites (PPE/safety requirement)
