Responsibilities
As a Buyer, your daily operations will include:
Procurement: Purchase goods, materials, and services in line with cost, quality, and delivery targets.
Inventory Management: Work cross-functionally to forecast demand and evaluate inventory to ensure stock levels are maintained.
Analysis: Conduct market and competitor analysis and identify cost-reduction initiatives.
Vendor Relations: Identify and select vendors based on price and quality; cultivate new sources for supplies.
Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and terms of business to improve pricing and drive savings.
Technical Tasks: Utilize MRP systems to track purchase orders, maintain detailed records, and resolve order discrepancies or back-orders.
Communication: Act as the interface between suppliers and internal departments regarding purchasing processes and new projects.
Qualifications
Industry Experience: 1-2 years of experience working as a buyer in a manufacturing environment
Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills and experience navigating ERP/MRP systems.
Communication: Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
Analytical Skills: Strong mathematical ability and a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Soft Skills: Dependable, organized, and able to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to resolve vendor inquiries and order issues effectively.
