Responsibilities
Automated Firmware Lifecycle Management: Plan and execute end-to-end network patching and upgrades across campus and data center switch fabrics using Cisco Catalyst Center and Cisco Nexus Dashboard.
Vulnerability Management & Compliance: Continuously audit infrastructure against PSIRTs and CVEs, mapping them to automated remediation tracks within management controllers.
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) Deployment: Develop and maintain automated patching playbooks and infrastructure templates using Python, Ansible, or Terraform integrated with Cisco APIs.
Proactive Network Analytics & Health Checks: Configure pre- and post-patching validation scripts using Nexus Dashboard Insights and Catalyst Assurance to guarantee zero telemetry or routing state loss during maintenance windows.
Change Window Orchestration: Deploy scheduled upgrades through automated orchestration engines, executing zero-touch or minimal-downtime micro-patching sequences to preserve business continuity.
Policy and Fabric Governance: Leverage Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller (NDFC) to manage configuration compliance, fabric health, and centralized policy enforcement across software-defined data center environments.
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Modernization: Document, standardize, and transition traditional manual CLI network upgrade procedures into fully automated CI/CD-style pipelines.
Continuous Innovation & Mentorship: Collaborate with cross-functional NetDevOps and Cyber Security teams to align network automation with enterprise security mandates.
Qualifications
xperience: 10 years of hands-on experience in enterprise-scale networking, with a strong focus on software-defined architectures and automated lifecycle management.
Platform Expertise: Advanced knowledge of Cisco Catalyst Center (formerly DNA Center) and Cisco Nexus Dashboard (including NDFC and Insights).
Automation Tooling: Scripting proficiency in Python (REST APIs, JSON, YAML) alongside network automation tools (Ansible / Terraform).
Network Foundations: Deep architectural knowledge of enterprise networking primitives (BGP, OSPF, VxLAN EVPN, Cisco ACI, and campus segmentation).
Preferred Certifications: CCNP Enterprise/Data Center or Cisco Certified DevNet Associate/Professional
