Responsibilities
- Migration Execution: Lead and execute high-volume data migrations from legacy file systems and repositories to SharePoint Online.
- Planning & Assessment: Assess existing source content, permission structures, and data quality to define optimal migration paths.
- Data Transformation: Define and apply data mapping, metadata tagging, and remediation rules. Ensure migrated content aligns with content types, libraries, and site designs.
- Validation & Reconciliation: Reconcile migrated data to ensure accuracy and integrity, proactively identifying and resolving migration risks or technical blocks.
- Platform Administration: Configure SharePoint Online environments, managing permissions, access inheritance, content types, and metadata schemas.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with business units to support their transition, providing targeted training and user support to promote adoption.
- Testing & Documentation: Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), maintain detailed migration logs, and produce status reports for project leadership.
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading data conversion initiatives from legacy file systems (Novell file systems experience is highly desired) to SharePoint Online.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade migration tools (e.g., Sharegate, AvePoint, or Microsoft Migration Tool).
- Demonstrated success working within large-scale, organization-wide SharePoint rollouts.
- Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online architecture and information management principles.
- Proficiency in site administration, including complex permissions management (users, groups, and inheritance).
- Understanding of security controls and document retention policies.
- Ability to perform data profiling to identify data quality issues and apply transformation logic.
- Experience producing technical documentation, including source-to-target mapping and issue logs.
- University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline.
