Responsibilities
Safety Leadership: Champion SHE-Q standards and procedures, leading by example to ensure an incident-free workplace.
Team Management: Support, motivate, and mentor a diverse team of field and office personnel, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
Operational Excellence: Oversee fleet management and resource planning to ensure projects are executed on time and within scope.
Financial Oversight: Manage operational costs effectively while adhering to strict quality and safety benchmarks.
Business Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with regional clientele to promote service offerings and support sales growth.
Reporting & Strategy: Provide detailed quantitative and qualitative reports on branch performance to senior management.
Talent Development: Partner with HR to recruit, train, and retain a top-tier operational workforce.
Qualifications
Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in a technical or business-related field.
Leadership Experience: Minimum of 5 years managing large teams (20+ employees), preferably within a unionized environment.
Financial Acumen: Proven track record managing annual operating budgets of $5M or more.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with heavy transport methods such as Over-the-Road (OTR) transport, Jack and Slide systems, and SPMT is a significant asset.
Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders.
Operational Traits: A decisive, ethical, and sociable leader who excels under pressure and possesses a strong work ethic.
Site Readiness: Ability to work on-site in Fort McMurray without restrictions.
