Responsibilities
- Analyze forecasted production volumes and dynamically adjust resource allocation throughout the day to meet evolving demands.
- Monitor inventory movement within the facility and determine daily workload to optimize efficiency.
- Cultivate a strong safety culture, proactively identifying and addressing potential hazards in the work environment.
- Utilize advanced systems like Engineered Labour Standards and Voice Pick technology to achieve and surpass key performance indicators for picking operations.
- Guide and develop supervisors, fostering their success in meeting performance, safety, and budget targets.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to recruit and integrate new team members, including supervisors.
- Report on key operational and financial metrics to upper management, contributing to overall budget adherence (experience creating an activity-based budget is vital)
- Lead and support the implementation of process enhancements and new initiatives from the Supply Chain team.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive management experience within a high-volume distribution center setting.
- Demonstrated capability in developing, mentoring, and leading supervisory teams.
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as administration, logistics, supply chain, or transportation.
- Strong proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) software.
- Proven ability to create and work within activity-based budgets for labour and shrinkage
- Proven ability to make sound, rapid decisions under pressure, even with limited information.
- Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective interaction across all organizational levels.
