Responsibilities
Specific Accountabilities:
• Take on Operator in Charge role which would interface with the electrical utility, Enbridge Compressor station operations leadership/teams, Enbridge GTM Gas Control, third party high voltage maintenance crews, and other stakeholders.
• Support project development, design and implementation to ensure safe, reliable and efficient projects are delivered.
• Liaise between Project Team and Westcoast stakeholders; representing core interests of Operations throughout project life cycles.
• Provide leadership support to ensure Safety, Environmental and Operational best practices are achieved throughout project construction.
• Provide gas industry institutional knowledge directly or indirectly through engagement with Operations teams to ensure project requirements for: training, operating procedures, asset maintenance and asset management is provided.
• Ensure ORA Operations deliverables are executed as per project schedule requirements
• Ensure projects and operations teams complete commissioning and handover requirements, accountable for communicating requirements to stakeholders and ensuring ORA scoping is complete.
• Develop and communicate effectively to ensure Operational resource requirements are identified; provide direction and informal leadership to Operators and Technicians that are subconded to projects.
• Takes point on communications required to work through gaps in scope, funding, timing or process/program requirements that come up between Projects and Operations.
• Provides operational support and input for the management of project deficiencies and Project Handover and Acceptance to Operations.
• Operational leadership to ensure post start up deficiencies are managed; ensuring sustainable operations.
• Accountable for identifying operational risks to avoid personal, process and business impacts; routinely greater than $1M or greater in terms of cost avoidance.
Qualifications
Required:
• 5-10 years of Operations or Maintenance experience in the Natural Gas Industry
• Formal education, a technical degree or equivalent certifications and less years experience may be considered.
• Effective communication and relationship development.
• Self driven and strong ability to prioritize work through periods of heavy workload and competing priorities.
• Extensive operations or technical experience related to gas transportation equipment and systems. (ie. Pipeline and Compression)
• Working knowledge of gas related programs, processes and familiar with gas industry standards and best operating practices.
• Red Seal Journeyman Electrician, or
• Electrical Technologist (registered in ASTTBC), or
• Electrical Engineer (registered with EGBC) with Class A FSR (unlimited)
Preferred:
• Extensive experience working with the Westcoast Operations teams and is familiar with stations equipment.
• Experience as a field level leader.
• Working knowledge of Management of Change, Work Management, Operations Training Programs, Operational Readiness and Assurance Processes and Commissioning and Handover best practices.
