Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Safely maneuver skid steer loaders (wheeled or tracked) and specialized material-handling forklifts throughout the plant.
- Hopper & Bunker Management: Transport shredded materials from plant bunkers directly to production hoppers to keep machinery running without downtime.
- Attachment Handling: Switch out and utilize various skid steer attachments (buckets, sweepers, pallet forks, grapples) as needed for material transport and site cleanup.
- Loading & Unloading: Assist with staging, transferring, and loading/unloading materials from trailers, haul trucks, or storage bays.
- Site Organization & Safety: Maintain clean drive routes, follow plant safety protocols, and communicate effectively with shift team members.
Qualifications
- 1–3 Years Experience: Proven track record operating skid steer loaders or industrial material handling equipment (manufacturing, logistics, landscaping, or site development experience preferred).
- Valid Driver’s License: Clean driving record required.
- Certifications (Asset): Heavy Equipment Operator certification, OSHA 10/30, or valid Forklift ticket is a major bonus.
- Technical Skills: Sound understanding of skid steer capabilities, load limits, and attachment operations.
- Physical Stamina: Comfortable sitting for extended periods, maneuvering around active job sites, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Basic knowledge of equipment inspection, routine checks, and simple troubleshooting.
- Work Ethic: Punctual, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious with strong team communication.
