As a Packaging Operator in the Manufacturing & Logistics sector, you will be responsible for the setup and operation of packaging machinery. Your day-to-day will involve reading job tickets to determine specific machine adjustments and material requirements to ensure every batch meets strict quality standards. You will work a consistent shift from 7 am – 3 pm, Monday to Friday, providing you with the stability and work-life balance you deserve.
Because this facility operates under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), you will work in a clean, controlled environment. Safety and sanitation are paramount; you will be required to wear full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety shoes, lab coats, hairnets, and gloves. You must also be comfortable using alcohol for cleaning equipment to maintain food safety and hygiene standards. Please note that for safety and GMP compliance, no jewelry is allowed on the production floor.
To excel as a Packaging Operator, you should possess the following skills:
• Strong mechanical aptitude for machine setup and basic troubleshooting.
• Excellent attention to detail for inspecting finished goods and identifying defects.
• Proficiency in basic mathematics, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Ability to use whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals for measurements.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to coordinate with the production team.
• Problem-solving skills to address issues involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented Manufacturing & Logistics environment.

Responsibilities
• Setting up, running, and adjusting packaging machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Reading job tickets to determine specific machine adjustments and material requirements for each run.
• Setting stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scales, rules, or templates.
• Monitoring machines during operation for any defects or malfunctions to prevent downtime.
• Inspecting finished goods for quality defects to ensure they meet company and SQF requirements.
• Performing basic troubleshooting and making necessary adjustments to equipment.
• Assisting coworkers with machine setup, stacking, marking, packing, and transporting finished products.
• Maintaining a clean and sanitized workspace, including cleaning equipment with alcohol.
• Complying strictly with all safety, GMP, and food safety requirements within your scope of work.
Qualifications
-Reliable transportation as the role is not on a direct bus route
• 1–2 years of experience in a production or packaging role; food industry experience is a major asset.
• Physical ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs safely.
• Comfort working in a GMP environment requiring specific PPE (lab coats, hairnets, etc.).
• Willingness to work with alcohol for cleaning and sanitation purposes.
• Adherence to a no-jewelry policy on the production floor for safety and compliance.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic to meet daily production targets.
