Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end bi-weekly payroll process for Operations, Day Ops, and Co-Op students, meticulously processing ADP timecards for hours, overtime, vacation, sick leave, and banked time, adhering strictly to the Collective Agreement.
Maintain full legislative compliance with all federal and provincial payroll regulations, safeguarding the confidentiality of all payroll data and records for internal reviews and audits.
Oversee data integrity by thoroughly reviewing pay registers and preview files for accuracy, correcting rate changes or errors, and executing the secure and timely transmission of payroll information to ADP.
Administer all payroll change actions, including processing promotions, position transfers, negotiated wage increases, and generating both retroactive and arrears payments when required.
Execute all union and banked time requirements, which involves coordinating annual CBA increases, managing associated bank adjustments, calculating vacation entitlements, and tracking/processing RDO/RDO1 payments.
Prepare and finalize separation payments for all terminated or retired hourly employees.
Coordinate Supervisor Overtime administration, including tracking hours, managing the annual bank time payout process, and coordinating weekly/annual payouts.
Generate comprehensive payroll reports for distribution to both Supervisors and Managers for various reporting needs, while acting as the primary point of contact for resolving all payroll inquiries.
Qualifications
Advanced proficiency with ADP Workforce Now is essential.
A minimum of 3+ years of progressive payroll administration experience, preferably in a unionized or high-volume environment (Manufacturing/Logistics background is an asset).
In-depth practical knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial payroll legislation.
Exceptional attention to detail and a proven ability to manage high-volume tasks accurately under tight deadlines.
A professional, self-starter mentality with superior communication skills.
