Responsibilities
• Collaborate and work closely with payroll and other functional leads on the People Forward project
• Support all phases of payroll testing activities, including, end-to-end payroll processing (historical corrections, pay adjustment, T4 administration), process validation, payroll data analysis, and reporting
• Create documentation, end user guide updates and other miscellaneous duties as required and requested.
• Validate functional specifications and payroll related configuration through testing and design document reviews
• Maintain test scripts and document test findings including status of tests.
• Participate in team meetings representing the interests and needs of Payroll and ensure requirements are met by system functionality.
• Support People Forward payroll team with system discrepancies such as researching and resolving inbound and outbound data transfer issues (e.g. data upload to government or third-party vendor sites bank/routing transit # problems for individual transactions).
Qualifications
• Formal payroll education from the National Payroll Institute (NPI)
• You have a minimum of 5 years of relevant payroll experience processing end to end Canadian payroll
• Must have a deep knowledge of Canadian payroll federal and provincial legislation
• Prior program implementation experience of Oracle is preferred. Other HCM Payroll implementations apply
• Expertise in reading requirements documents to understand the scope of work being configured including impacting modules.
• Detail-oriented focus and accountability for deliverables must be at a high level
• Subject Matter Expert on all things payroll and ability to communicate effectively to share this knowledge
• Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
• Skilled in engaging with, anticipating and balancing the needs of multiple key stakeholders to ensure deliverables are represented
• Familiar with current systems and processes related to Payroll including the current payroll general ledger structures.
• Strong communication skills
• Honest and trustworthy, are results oriented and strive to be the best in what you do
• You believe in collaboration, building relationships and value the perspectives of others
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality
• Keen attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Excellence in achieving multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel
