Payroll & Benefits Administrator Ottawa, ON Hybrid
Are you a proactive payroll professional who loves a mix of structure, flexibility, and team spirit? Our Ottawa-based client is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Administrator to take ownership of Canadian payroll and benefits while also supporting U.S. payroll as needed. Reporting to the HR Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement in payroll, benefits and retirement programs.

Responsibilities
- Process and reconcile Canadian payroll and benefit transactions (ADP Workplace)
- Ensure compliance with tax, benefits, and pension legislation
- Manage pension/RRSP/TFSA contributions and WSIB remittances
- Conduct audits, prepare year-end reports (T4s, etc.), and support accounting with journal entries
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support U.S. payroll as backup
- Suggest and implement process improvements (your ideas are welcome!)
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on payroll experience (Canadian payroll a must; U.S. payroll a bonus)
- PCP designation preferred
- Experience with ADP and strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
- Strong attention to detail, proactive mindset, and a collaborative spirit
- Comfortable working independently in a semi-manual environment
