Responsibilities
- Manage the full cycle of semi-monthly payroll for approximately 60 salaried and hourly employees.
- Oversee the end-to-end employee lifecycle including new hire enrollments, pay adjustments, and final pay processing.
- Administer group benefits programs, including enrollment maintenance and monthly provider invoice reconciliation.
- Ensure strict compliance with the Canada Labour Code, BC Employment Standards Act, and CRA regulations.
- Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries and support the accounting team with sub-ledger reconciliations.
- Lead year-end requirements including the preparation and filing of T4s, T4 Summaries, and Records of Employment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in full-cycle payroll, ideally within a small to mid-sized company environment.
- Enrolment in or completion of the Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation is highly preferred.
- Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with systems such as ADP, Sage 50, or QuickBooks.
- Solid understanding of federal and provincial employment legislation and statutory remittance deadlines.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills to effectively manage employee inquiries regarding pay and benefits.
