This position is ideal for someone who enjoys managing full-cycle payroll with precision, while also contributing to the ongoing enhancement of payroll procedures and internal controls. You'll work with a dedicated team of two other payroll professionals and report directly to the Controller.

Responsibilities
•Process end-to-end payroll for unionized and non-unionized staff across BC (500 headcount apx.), ensuring compliance with current legislation and collective agreements
•Maintain and update employee records related to pay, benefits, leaves, and other compensation changes
•Administer government filings, including T4s, ROEs, and other year-end documents
•Collaborate cross-functionally with HR and Accounting teams to align payroll with financial reporting needs
•Support payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations of payroll accounts
•Identify and implement improvements to payroll workflows and participate in the development and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Qualifications
•5+ years of payroll processing experience required
•Ability to manage payroll in a predominantly paper-based setting; includes collecting, verifying, and inputting physical timesheets with a high level of accuracy
•Experience processing in a high-volume environment preferred (300 + headcount ideal)
•Sound knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations and best practices
•Experience with unionized payroll and collective agreements is a strong asset
•Experience with payroll software such as ADP, Ceridian, or Payworks is an asset; internal platform is tailored to the industry.
•PCP certification or working toward designation preferred
•Excellent communication skills and the ability to support continuous improvement
