Responsibilities
-Gather information on hours worked for each employee, calculate the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses, etc., and prepare and execute payroll.
-Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors in a timely and professional manner.
-Process taxes and payment of employee benefits, and keep track of pay rates, wages, compensation benefit rates, new hire information, etc.
-Manage and process short-term disability cases in accordance with company policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or Payroll Administrator.
- Working towards or holding a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) l is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and Canadian regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel) and familiarity with payroll software (ADP/Ceridian).
- Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail.
- Experience processing payrolls for multiprovincial employees is considered an asset.
