Responsibilities
Pharmacist Team Lead - Full-Time, Permanent - Sudbury - Healthcare
As the Pharmacist Team Lead, you will spend approximately 80% of your time on leadership and desk-based operational tasks, and 20% on the floor supporting the team. Your duties include:
Team Leadership: Direct, coach, and motivate a team of up to 15 (Pharmacists, Technicians, Assistants, and Clerks) to ensure high engagement and productivity.
Operational Management: Oversee daily workflows to ensure production schedules, quality standards, and departmental goals are consistently met.
People Management: Handle the full employee lifecycle, including hiring, performance reviews, progressive discipline, and career development planning.
Clinical Support: Step in to perform Pharmacist duties (verification/checking) and data entry when required to support the team during peak times or shortages.
Client Relations: Act as the primary point of escalation and relationship manager for Long Term Care home leadership, troubleshooting issues and ensuring client satisfaction.
Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks and lead initiatives to improve safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness within the pharmacy.
Administration: Manage operational budgets, timesheets, vacation scheduling, and incident reporting.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with OCP standards and internal health and safety policies.
Qualifications
Pharmacist Team Lead - Full-Time, Permanent - Sudbury - Healthcare
Licensure: Bachelor of Pharmacy (or PharmD) and currently licensed in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
Leadership Experience: Minimum 2+ years of leadership/supervisory experience (5 years preferred) in a high-volume pharmacy setting.
Industry Background: Previous experience in Long Term Care pharmacy is a strong asset; experienced Retail Pharmacy Managers will also be considered.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with KROLL and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access) is preferred.
Soft Skills: exceptional communication skills with the ability to "manage up" and "manage down" with tact and diplomacy.
Mindset: A change agent who can foster a positive culture, remaining flexible and empathetic while driving results.
