position offers an exceptional workplace environment on a convenient Guelph bus route, competitive pay at $21.50 per hour, and outstanding potential for long-term employment on a desirable straight day shift schedule. If you thrive in a fast-paced, unionized environment where accuracy, safety, and efficiency are valued, this manufacturing & logistics role is an ideal opportunity to build your career.
As a Warehouse Picker / Packer in this modern manufacturing & logistics facility, you will play a crucial role in maintaining seamless order fulfillment and distribution operations. Utilizing an RF scanner, your main focus will be manual order picking, handling boxed inventory such as footwear, work safety clothing, high-visibility apparel, and protective gloves. You will also take pride in ensuring that products are properly packed, palletized, and shrink-wrapped on skids for distribution, conducting thorough visual quality checks on all final shipping products before they leave the facility. While experience operating a Reach Truck or Order Picker forklift is considered a fantastic asset and highly desirable, it is not strictly required to get started—we welcome motivated order pickers and warehouse associates who are eager to grow their skills in a manufacturing & logistics setting!
Working in a structured, unionized setting, you will be supported by measured performance goals and picking accuracy metrics designed to guide your daily success. In addition to picking and packing orders, your daily routine will involve basic math and reading tasks for shipping verification, staging materials for efficient transit, carrying out manual lifting up to 50 lbs, and participating in routine housekeeping duties to keep the warehouse clean and hazard-free. This opportunity provides a supportive setting where you can leverage your existing material handling experience while taking advantage of extensive training opportunities within the expanding manufacturing & logistics sector.
Language & Communication Requirements: Clear proficiency in English is required for this role to safely interpret RF scanner screens, follow written order fulfillment instructions, adhere to occupational health and safety guidelines, and communicate clearly with co-workers and team leaders on the warehouse floor. While primary operational duties are conducted in English, strong communication skills in additional languages are always considered a welcomed asset in our diverse and inclusive workplace environments.
Randstad Operational: Secure a job that complements your skills, supports work-life balance, and powers your goals. Get access to a range of job opportunities through permanent, temp, or contract roles with the best employers, plus ongoing training from a trusted partner who cares about your working life and well-being.
