Location: Fort Saskatchewan, AB
Position Type: Full-Time, Contract-to-Permanent
Compensation:
**Opportunity for rate increases based on performance and long-term fit
- Employee (EMP): $45.00/hour
- Incorporated Contractor (DSP): $63.00/hour
...
We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Pipefitters (Table Fitting specialists) and a Lead Pipefitter to join our fabrication team in Fort Saskatchewan. In this role, you will be responsible for the high-volume, precision assembly of pipe spools and components directly on fabrication tables.
Whether you are looking to join us as a permanent Employee ($45.00/hr) or operate as an Incorporated Contractor ($63.00/hr), this is a fantastic opportunity for a self-sufficient fitter who takes pride in structural accuracy. We are looking for someone to start immediately, with excellent potential for a long-term career and wage growth as you prove your fit within our team.
Advantages
Flexible Payout Structure: Highly competitive rates at $45.00/hr for EMP or $63.00/hr for DSP.
Career Growth: Strong opportunity to transition into a long-term role with scheduled rate increases based on performance.
Consistent Work: Steady, indoor shop environment without the unpredictable elements of field work.
Supportive Culture: Work alongside a skilled QA/QC and foreman team dedicated to smooth production.
Responsibilities
Production Standards: Maintain a high-volume output—fitting 100" a day is the expectation.
Blueprint Reading: Accurately interpret P&IDs, spool sheets, and fabrication drawings. You must clearly know the difference between isometric and shop drawings.
Fabrication & Fit-Up: Measure, mark, cut, bevel, and fit pipe and fittings. Assemble pipe spools, supports, and related components on fabrication tables.
Welding & Equipment: Tack weld components (strong tacking experience is required) and safely operate shop equipment including grinders, oxy-fuel cutting gear, band saws, beveling machines, and overhead cranes.
Testing & Quality Control: Perform strict fit-up inspections prior to welding and assist with quality assurance (hydro testing experience is required). Coordinate closely with the shop foreman and the quality team to verify dimensions and alignment.
Traceability & Reporting: Ensure proper material identification and traceability throughout fabrication. Identify and report drawing discrepancies, material shortages, and quality concerns.
Safety & Maintenance: Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and industry standards. Maintain strict housekeeping standards to ensure work areas remain clean and organized.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Pipefitter with a strong focus on table fitting and shop fabrication.
Journeyman (Jman) status is preferred.
Experience in a Lead Pipefitter capacity is highly desirable, as we are also looking to fill a Lead position.
Autonomy: Ability to work alone or under very little supervision while hitting the 100" daily production expectation.
Must possess a relatively clean Driver's Abstract.
Must be able to pass a Drug & Alcohol (D&A) test if required.
Must be local to the Fort Saskatchewan area or willing to commute daily (no camp/LOA provided).
Summary
If you are a precise, high-volume fitter ready to lock in a great long-term role, we want to hear from you!
