As the Plant Accountant, you will be assisting in the accurate reporting of product costs and processes in an SAP environment while supporting manufacturing departments. This role will also be responsible for inventory reconciliation, analysis of material and labor variances, manufacturing variances, development of inventory controls, and continuous improvement projects. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated, energetic, and able to work as part of a team at a fast pace.

Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Manager, Cost Accounting in all areas of Plant Finance
- Support the development and accuracy of standard cost in SAP ERP system
- Develop and manage key reports, monthly plant KPI metrics, and processes to support operations management
- Review Plant Actual Costs compared to Budget and Revised Forecasts
- Analyze and report on manufacturing costs including material and labor variances
- Monitor and analyze inventory transactions, including scrap, rework, obsolescence and write-offs
- Assist with cost studies to determine expected product cost for new product launches to assist Marketing Department
- Assist in the collection and compilation of reports to support day-to-day operations and key projects
- Analyze monthly plant expenditures and advise Finance management and operations on potential cost savings, including the reduction of scrap and obsolescence
- Assist with internal and external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP,SOX and company policies
- Monitor Inventory (RM, WIP, FG, Consignment, Packaging)
- Perform periodic reviews of inventory controls, including cycle counts, physical counts, and reconciliation of variances
- Maintain inventory valuation schedules under standard costing, ensuring accurate capitalization and systematic amortization of variances in line with company policy
- Assist with Fixed Asset, MRO, and Capex Reporting
- Any ad-hoc duties, reporting, analysis, or business development initiatives as required
Qualifications
- 3-5 years in a Cost Accounting role
- Ability to assess processes and systems to identify key control activities
- Ability to identify and implement improvements to drive efficiencies
- Hands-on team player, able to interact professionally with all levels including staff outside of the Finance group
- Communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to collaborate with a broader finance team, implement significant initiatives and drive toward exceptional performance
- Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented individual who can work under very tight deadlines with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure, change and ambiguity
- Prior experience in manufacturing or cultivation environment is preferred
- Ability to communicate with all levels of employees in a manufacturing environment
- Solid knowledge SAP EPR system is preferred, but not required
