We are seeking a Bilingual Plant Manager (Directeur.trice d'usine) to take full operational and strategic ownership of their Gatineau industrial facility. Managing a dedicated site team of 15 personnel, you will lead daily production, maintenance, chemical inventory control, and logistics. This is a hands-on, high-accountability role perfect for a process-oriented leader who thrives in a heavy industrial setting and possesses strong labor relations skills.

Responsibilities
-Full Site Operations: Oversee all daily plant activities including product receiving, processing, plant maintenance, shipping/logistics, and strict quality control.
-Workforce & Labor Management: Lead, mentor, and coach a facility team of 15. Manage employee relations, performance, scheduling, and payroll approval within a unionized framework.
-Financial & Inventory Control: Oversee the plant’s operating budget, provide monthly/quarterly financial updates, manage capital project investments, and direct annual cyclical stock counts alongside auditors.
-EHS & Regulatory Compliance: Act as the ultimate site champion for health, safety, and environmental standards. Ensure absolute compliance with provincial and federal guidelines regarding dangerous goods handling and chemical preservation environmental protocols (WHMIS, TDG).
Qualifications
-Experience: 5+ years of proven leadership or supervisory experience managing a production facility in a heavy industrial sector (e.g., building materials, wood products, chemical manufacturing, mining, forestry, or heavy industrial logistics).
-Bilingual Proficiency: Flawless professional fluency in both French and English is required. You will confidently manage local French-speaking operations and provincial bodies while reporting to and collaborating with multi-provincial corporate leadership in English.
-Labor Relations: Direct, hands-on experience navigating collective agreements and managing performance within a unionized environment.
-Safety-First Track Record: Strong familiarity with industrial safety management systems and high-risk regulatory compliance framework (knowledge of Quebec CNESST/Ministry of Labour guidelines is a strong asset).
-Education & Credentials: College diploma (DEC) or equivalent industrial field experience; a valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
