Responsibilities
- Provide high-level strategic oversight for the Strathroy Ontario facility to ensure all profit and loss objectives are achieved.
- Manage a diverse workforce consisting of 8 direct management reports and approximately 700 indirect manufacturing industry employees.
- Mentor and develop the internal leadership pipeline, specifically focusing on the growth of the next production manager.
- Execute the annual business plan by aligning capital investments with plant capacity and customer demand.
- Ensure the Plant Manager maintains a safe and environmentally conscious workplace in strict accordance with ISO 14001 standards.
- Maintain open communication and cross-border collaboration, requiring you to travel between Canada and the USA.
Qualifications
- You must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline or a related technical field.
- A minimum of five years of experience in a senior leadership role within a Tier 1 automotive environment is required.
- You must be legally eligible and willing to conduct regular professional travel between Canada and the USA.
- Proven expertise in complex processes such as die casting, machining, assembly, and Lean manufacturing.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage multi-million dollar budgets and engineering cost models.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) status or a Master’s Degree in Business or Engineering is considered a significant asset for a Plant Manager.
