Responsibilities
*Oversee all daily operations for the manufacturing facility in Vaughan, Ontario, including the management of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) metrics.
*Execute strategic production scheduling and resource allocation to ensure all installation deadlines and customer targets are met.
*Champion a culture of continuous improvement by implementing Lean tools such as 5S, Kanban, and SMED to increase OEE and reduce lead times.
*Act as a hands-on mentor for Production Supervisors and Team Leads, fostering a high-performance environment through consistent feedback and skill-mapping.
*Facilitate root cause analysis using 5 Whys and Ishikawa diagrams to minimize scrap and ensure total process adherence.
*Partner with cross-functional departments, including Engineering and Supply Chain, to coordinate CapEx planning and facility layout optimizations.
Qualifications
Executive Experience: You possess 7+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years specifically in a Factory Manager or Plant Management capacity.
Lean Expertise: You have a proven history of successfully scaling production capacity through the application of Continuous Improvement and Lean methodologies.
Technical Literacy: You demonstrate proficiency in utilizing ERP/MES systems for data-driven decision-making and production reporting.
Industry Knowledge: While experience in glazing or metal fabrication is preferred, you must have a deep understanding of Canadian OHS legislation and safety compliance.
Leadership Skills: You are a communicative leader capable of driving accountability on the shop floor while managing complex multi-functional projects.
Educational Background: A degree or diploma in Engineering, Business Operations, or a related technical field is highly desirable for this Factory Manager position.
