As a Plastic Machine Operator in our manufacturing & logistics division, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the production floor, optimizing machine performance, and ensuring that safety and quality standards are meticulously maintained. This position operates on a 12-hour continental rotating shift (8:00 AM - 8:00 PM / 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM, rotating every two weeks), offering incredible work-life balance through predictable scheduling alongside ample opportunities for extra working hours. Responsibilities
• Review new production orders and report immediately any issues that will impede production or quality.
• Assign duties to employees on the production floor in line with their individual capabilities.
• Ensure all team members have the necessary training, safety equipment, parts, and materials to perform their duties efficiently.
• Keep the Production Supervisor fully up to date with all changes, updates, and work in progress.
• Fill, check, complete, and close all finished batches according to the production schedule and open new ones as needed.
• Review the production schedule for the following shift, set up the lines, and prepare necessary supplies accordingly.
• Monitor raw material requirements for the active shift and report shortfalls to the appropriate individual immediately.
• Conduct periodic quality checks of work in progress to ensure tasks are completed on time and in accordance with strict quality requirements.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 3+ years of direct, hands-on experience in the plastic extrusion or blown film manufacturing industry (this background is strictly required).
• Ability to commit to a 12-hour continental rotating shift structure (8:00 AM - 8:00 PM and 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM, rotating bi-weekly).
• Physical capability to work in a fast-paced environment, involving a combination of sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
• Ability to comfortably handle heavy loads, perform physically demanding tasks, and frequently climb mezzanine stairs.
• Permanent legal authorization to work full-time in Canada; students cannot be considered due to the required ongoing schedule commitment.
• High reliability and readiness for an immediate start in a dynamic manufacturing & logistics environment.
