We're looking for experienced Principal Consultants who thrive in ambiguous, complex environments and enjoy solving challenging business, regulatory, and technical problems. If you've worked on payments modernization, Canadian payments infrastructure, or strategic transformation initiatives, we'd love to hear from you.
This is not a traditional delivery role. You won't be maintaining existing systems—you'll be helping shape the future.

Responsibilities
As a Principal Consultant, you'll partner with senior business and technology leaders to evaluate and define the future state of payments capabilities.
Your work will include:
Developing strategic roadmaps for payments infrastructure modernization
Evaluating connectivity to Canadian payments infrastructure, including ACSS and the Real-Time Rail (RTR)
Assessing regulatory, legal, operational, and technical requirements
Producing executive-ready recommendations, presentations, and strategic playbooks
Creating high-level solution blueprints and architectural direction
Supporting business case development, including high-level cost and benefit analysis
Collaborating with internal experts across Technology, Treasury, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Operations
Your recommendations will directly influence executive decision-making and future investment strategy.
Qualifications
We're seeking hands-on consultants who enjoy doing the work—not managing large teams.
Ideal Experience
5–15 years of experience within the Canadian financial services industry
Deep knowledge of the Canadian payments ecosystem
Experience leading or supporting payments modernization or large-scale transformation initiatives
Strong understanding of Canadian payments infrastructure
Experience interpreting complex regulatory and policy requirements
Ability to translate technical and business findings into executive-level recommendations
Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
Comfortable working independently in fast-paced, evolving environments
Industry Experience
We're interested in professionals with hands-on payments experience from organizations such as:
Canadian banks
FinTech companies
Payment service providers
Payments technology organizations
Government or industry organizations supporting Canadian payments
The most important qualification is direct experience working within the Canadian payments ecosystem.
