Responsibilities
• Interpret and apply Ontario’s privacy laws (PHIPA, FIPPA) to digital health services and PHI access
• Lead or support Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for digital health systems and programs
• Assess legislative or regulatory changes needed for new digital health initiatives
• Provide expert privacy advice on policy, compliance, and implementation approaches
• Align project outputs with privacy and security requirements in the Ontario context
• Collaborate across branches to develop briefings, dashboards, and recommendations
• Support change management for stakeholders adapting to new privacy practices
• Present updates to governance bodies, steering committees, and executive stakeholders
• Communicate privacy guidance to technical and non-technical audiences
• Contribute to patient-centric digital health improvements, including portals, authentication tools, and identity services
Qualifications
Must Have:
• Strong understanding of Ontario privacy regulations, including PHIPA, FIPPA, and HINP/DSA frameworks
• Demonstrated experience conducting or leading PIAs in healthcare or public health environments
• Experience working with digital health programs, vendors, and platforms in Ontario
• Knowledge of digital health policy, data sharing agreements, and patient access models
• Understanding of identity verification and secure access tools (e.g., login mechanisms, authorization frameworks)
Nice to Have:
📘 Strategic planning experience within health IT or regulatory transformation projects
📊 Familiarity with health data governance, interoperability, and information security standards
🧩 Previous experience working with cross-sector health delivery partners or in a clinical setting
💬 Excellent stakeholder engagement, reporting, and communication skills
🔍 Business analysis and change management experience in the public health sector
