Responsibilities
Claim Verification: Review funding claims, operational records, and financial submissions to ensure compliance with provincial policies and guidelines.
Data Analysis: Analyze financial and program data to detect inconsistencies, trends, or overpayments.
Financial Calculations: Calculate funding adjustments, overpayments, and financial recoveries accurately.
Policy Application: Interpret complex legislation, guidelines, and funding agreements to make sound verification decisions.
Stakeholder Communication: Maintain professional communication with childcare operators and stakeholders regarding documentation standards, findings, and review outcomes.
Documentation & Reporting: Prepare clear audit trails, findings summaries, reports, and official correspondence.
Qualifications
MS Office Suite: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience (specifically Excel and Outlook).
Data Processing: Minimum 3 years of high-accuracy data entry and data processing experience.
Regulated Industry Experience: Minimum 3 years working within government or a highly regulated environment interpreting complex policies.
Stakeholder Relations: Minimum 3 years of experience working directly with clients or external stakeholders.
Business Communication: Minimum 1 year of professional business writing, documentation, and reporting experience.
Location & Residency: Must reside in Alberta, within approximately a 1-hour drive of Edmonton to accommodate occasional on-site tasks.
Nice-to-Have Assets:
Education: Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Financial Reporting: 3+ years of experience in financial reporting and auditing/accuracy checks.
Public Sector: 1+ year of experience within a Canadian Public Sector organization.
Domain Knowledge: 1+ year of experience working directly with Alberta childcare grant funding programs.
