Responsibilities
-Lead and manage all procurement and purchasing activities within a manufacturing environment, ensuring materials, components, and services are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with production schedules.
-Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives, including supplier negotiations, “make vs. buy” decisions, and “where-to-make” strategies to support operational and business objectives.
-Manage supplier relationships and performance related to quality, pricing, delivery, and capacity while driving continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
-Oversee purchasing operations through MRP/ERP systems, including purchase order management, inventory alignment, logistics coordination, and procurement reporting/KPIs.
-Manage a small team and collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and product development teams to support commercialization efforts, technical sourcing requirements, and interpretation of technical drawings and specifications.
-Lead and develop the procurement team through coaching, performance management, hiring, training, SOP development, and implementation of procurement best practices across global supply chain operations.
Qualifications
-7+ years of procurement, supply chain, or purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated success managing suppliers, sourcing strategies, and procurement operations.
-Proven leadership or management experience with the ability to mentor teams, manage cross-functional initiatives, and drive departmental performance and accountability.
-Strong experience negotiating supplier contracts, pricing agreements, logistics strategies, and vendor performance metrics in complex manufacturing or industrial settings.
-Extensive knowledge of MRP/ERP systems; SAP experience is considered a strong asset along with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows-based environments.
-Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related discipline preferred; APICS, Lean, or other procurement/supply chain certifications are considered assets.
-Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills with the ability to work effectively across technical, operational, and executive stakeholder groups in a global supply chain
