Responsibilities
Native Mobile Experience Design: Conceptualize, prototype, and deliver end-to-end user flows and visual UI for flagship iOS and Android mobile platforms.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with product management, engineering, user research, and accessibility leads to guide feature development from initial discovery through launch and QA.
Design Systems Governance: Utilize, evolve, and publish shared components, UI patterns, and interactive variants within Figma to uphold brand consistency and engineering alignment.
Technical & Platform Feasibility: Create detailed specifications, responsive interactions, transitions, and edge-case documentation tailored specifically to Apple Human Interface Guidelines and Google Material Design.
Inclusive & Accessible Design: Champion accessibility across every deliverable, ensuring strict compliance with WCAG standards and native accessibility features (dynamic type, screen readers, contrast ratios).
Qualifications
Core Product Design Background: 3 to 5+ years of end-to-end digital product design experience, with dedicated hands-on expertise building native iOS and Android applications.
Portfolio Demonstrations: A strong design portfolio showing native mobile casework, detailed wireframing, high-fidelity prototypes, state-handling, and design system usage.
Technical Mastery: Advanced proficiency with Figma (auto-layout, components, tokens, interactive prototyping, and developer handoff).
Platform Standards: Deep working knowledge of platform-specific interaction patterns and navigation architectures across iOS and Android ecosystems.
Education & Equivalency: A post-secondary degree/diploma in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, or equivalent practical industry experience.
Valued Assets: Prior background in fintech, banking, self-directed investing, or complex multi-tier enterprise digital products is beneficial but not mandatory.
Workplace Requirement: Ability to collaborate onsite at the downtown Toronto location (currently 3 days onsite, transitioning to 4 days onsite during standard business hours).
