Responsibilities
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read, analyze, and execute production targets based on work orders and engineering schematics.
- Machine & Tool Operation: Utilize band saws, finishing equipment, drill presses, and manual packaging tools to trim, shape, and package product.
- Quality Assurance: Verify component dimensions against strict engineering tolerances using specialized measurement devices.
- Inventory & Order Management: Cross-check finished products against customer requisitions and issue non-conformance reports (NCRs) when discrepancies occur.
- Workplace Safety & Maintenance: Perform start-of-day equipment safety checks, log servicing needs, and maintain standard 5S workplace organization practices.
- Team Communication: Maintain constant radio contact across the shop floor to ensure smooth workflow handoffs.
Qualifications
- Industrial Background: Previous work within rubber manufacturing, custom fabrication, or general production environments is highly preferred.
- Technical Aptitude: Demonstrated ability to accurately read technical drawings and utilize precision measuring instruments.
- Equipment Confidence: Hands-on experience operating shop machinery, power tools, and cutting equipment.
- Documentation & Digital Skills: Capability to log detailed daily production figures, complete compliance forms, and input basic metric data into company software.
- Compliance Training: Active WHMIS/SDS certification or a commitment to complete certification prior to onboard.
