Responsibilities
• Oversee and direct the nightly activities of the production department to ensure all manufacturing goals are achieved.
• Lead and manage a large team of production supervisors and floor staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Monitor and optimize the use of advanced automation and tech within the facility to enhance production efficiency.
• Ensure strict adherence to food safety protocols, quality standards, and health and safety regulations (HACCP/SQF).
• Navigate and manage labor relations within a unionized workforce, ensuring compliance with collective agreements.
• Utilize SAP to track production data, manage inventory, and generate detailed operational reports for leadership.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team to minimize equipment downtime and ensure the reliability of technical systems.
• Implement process improvement initiatives to reduce waste and increase overall plant productivity.
• Manage shift transitions effectively, ensuring a seamless handoff of information between the day and night teams.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 1+ years of experience in a dedicated Management role.
• Previous experience in food processing (specifically meat or pork), pharmaceuticals, or health and beauty industries is highly desirable.
• Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities, particularly with large, diverse workforces.
• Strong technical aptitude and experience working with highly automated manufacturing systems.
• Proven ability to handle labor relations and grievance procedures in a unionized environment.
• Advanced proficiency in SAP and other enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address production bottlenecks in real-time.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with the Operations Leader and cross-functional departments.
• Ability to work a Sunday to Thursday PM shift with flexible start times.
• Experience working within a large-scale, complex organization is considered an asset.
