Responsibilities
- Direct shop operations across welding, shipping/receiving, and customized structural steel assembly teams.
- Champion practical Lean methodologies to eliminate bottlenecks and standardize shop floor processes.
- Manage operational budgets, job costing, and gross profit margins across a $20M manufacturing division.
- Rebuild shop culture by promoting collaborative, solution-driven leadership and removing finger-pointing behaviours.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with engineering, project management, and sales to ensure custom build milestones are met.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience optimizing custom, project-based metal fabrication or structural assembly lines.
- Educational background with a Manufacturing Engineering degree or equivalent technical credential strongly preferred.
- Expertise in change management, continuous improvement tools, lean manufacturing principles, and modern root cause analysis.
- Demonstrated capability in job costing, operational forecasting, and overall financial oversight.
- Hands-on proficiency using ERP software systems.
- Exceptional resilience, high emotional intelligence, and calm problem-solving ability under high-pressure scenarios.
