Responsibilities
As a Machine Operator in this key Manufacturing & Logistics role, your daily duties will be varied and essential to the production line's success. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Operating and monitoring production machinery to ensure continuous and efficient operation, producing high-quality automotive parts.
- Loading raw materials into the machine and unloading finished parts, ensuring proper orientation and placement.
- Conducting regular visual inspections of parts to identify any defects and ensure they meet strict quality standards.
- Monitoring machine gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure the machinery is functioning correctly and making adjustments as necessary.
- Notifying supervisors or maintenance technicians immediately in the event of a machine error, malfunction, or safety concern.
- Accurately completing all necessary production paperwork, logs, and quality control documentation.
- Safely moving materials and finished products using carts and other equipment, which involves physical pushing and pulling.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area by adhering to 5S housekeeping standards.
- Packaging finished products into boxes according to specifications, preparing them for the next stage in the Manufacturing & Logistics chain.
- Assisting in other production areas and performing various functions as required to support team goals.
- Adhering to all company health and safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Qualifications
To be considered for this Machine Operator position within the Manufacturing & Logistics sector, you must meet the following qualifications:
- Mandatory CSA-approved steel-toed safety boots are required at all times on the production floor.
- Ability to lift between 30-50 lbs occasionally (team lifting is encouraged for heavier items); majority of items are 2-10 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment that can be warm to hot, especially in warmer months.
- A team-oriented mindset with the ability to work cooperatively in a team-based environment and participate in decision-making processes.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or general labour role is a strong asset but not required.
- Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hearing protection, and a company polo will be supplied.
