Responsibilities
- Orchestrate daily plant activities during 12-hour continental bi-weekly rotations from 6 to 6, directing both manufacturing and mechanical personnel on shift.
- Enforce rigorous workplace safety protocols across all departments to minimize operational hazards and maintain a secure working environment.
- Monitor key manufacturing metrics, evaluate labor hours, manage staff attendance logs, and oversee vacation scheduling for your direct reports.
- Lead local continuous improvement goals by utilizing modern digital tools and tablets to execute daily 5S audits and streamline material flow.
- Cultivate positive workplace morale to enhance staff retention while coordinating skill assessments, cross-training, and onboarding for team members.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate previous leadership experience as a Production Supervisor or manufacturing manager, ideally within a unionized industrial setting.
- Proven background working in heavy industries such as steel fabrication, mining operations, or agricultural processing facilities.
- Direct expertise implementing LEAN fundamentals, including specific experience with Standard Work, TPM, GEMBA, Kaizen, and Kanban systems.
- Strong communication skills and the resilience needed to problem-solve effectively within a fast-paced, complex production environment.
