Responsibilities
- Provide active, floor-based leadership for the night shift to ensure all stamping targets for volume and quality are met.
- Mentor and coach a diverse workforce, managing daily attendance, performance reviews, and the onboarding of new team members.
- Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing strict adherence to provincial health and safety regulations and internal safety protocols.
- Oversee the technical aspects of the press area, troubleshoot operational delays, and coordinate with specialized maintenance staff to minimize downtime.
- Manage administrative duties such as approving electronic timecards via ADP and delivering shift hand-off reports to the incoming management team.
- Act as the primary point of contact during off-shift hours, making independent decisions to keep the production lines running smoothly.
Qualifications
- Possess 3 to 5 years of experience in a leadership capacity within a metal forming or automotive stamping facility.
- Demonstrate a solid mechanical aptitude and a willingness to engage directly with machinery and press equipment on the shop floor.
- Hold an understanding of IATF 16949 procedures and the necessity of maintaining strict quality documentation in an automotive setting.
- Display strong communication skills and the ability to lead a culturally diverse team with varying language backgrounds.
- Willingness to complete initial training on the day shift for up to one month to ensure a full grasp of company processes.
- Capable of performing the physical requirements of the role, including standing for long durations and lifting up to 40 lbs.
