What You'll Be Doing: The Role
As a Production Technologist, you will be crucial in ensuring the quality and reliability of our electronic assemblies and components. Your main responsibilities will include:
-Testing and Troubleshooting: Conducting the testing and inspection of electronic assemblies and components. You will troubleshoot, repair, and perform failure analysis on electronics, electrical components, cables, wiring harnesses, mechanical products, and software products.
-Quality Assurance: Performing quality checks on ongoing builds and completing thorough quality inspections against existing standards.
-Process Improvement: Initiating action to prevent product nonconformity and optimizing processes to increase efficiencies.
-Documentation: Documenting all production and test activities and assisting in maintaining assembly, test, and configuration management records.
-Rework and Correction: Troubleshooting and reworking in-process failed products and taking corrective actions. You will control further processing of nonconforming product until the issue is corrected
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:
-A Diploma or degree in Electronics Technology or Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution is required.
-A solid understanding of all aspects of electronic circuit board testing (including component handling, soldering, and cleaning in a static-controlled environment).
-Strong competence and abilities to troubleshoot and repair complex circuits.
-Solid understanding of electronic hardware assembly, including cable assembly, mechanical support hardware, and enclosure assembly.
-WHMIS Certification.
-Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with minimum supervision.
Experience:
-A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an electronics design and production environment.
-Experience in a production test and repair position is necessary to meet full qualifications.
-Experience in high-reliability soldering.
