Location: Saanichton, BC (up to 20% domestic and international travel required)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Standard core office hours: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Pay rate: $25/hour to $28/hour

Responsibilities
• Operate SMT equipment, including the screen printer, pick and place machine, reflow oven, AOI/SPI, and X-Ray
• Perform daily machine set up, shutdown, and changeovers
• Load feeders, solder paste, stencils, and components according to run sheets and Bills of Materials (BoMs)
• Monitor line performance and adjust machine parameters when necessary
• Set up and calibrate screen printers, feeders, and placement machines, verifying correct component placement programs and alignment
• Ensure reflow oven profiles match required specifications for different PCB assemblies
• Inspect boards visually and using AOI/SPI systems to identify soldering defects
• Ensure compliance with IPC standards and internal quality guidelines
• Diagnose and resolve SMT machine errors, feeder issues, and placement problems
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on SMT machines and replace machine parts (nozzles, belts, filters, sensors)
• Exercise care in handling/storage of materials and control further processing of nonconforming product until corrected
• Maintain production logs, defect records, and downtime reports
• Track and manage component inventory for SMT lines
• Ensure safety and compliance, following ESD protection procedures and maintaining clean, organized workstations according to 5S principles
Qualifications
• Education: B. Diploma or degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Engineering Technology or a related field (IPC certification is an asset)
• Experience: 1-3 years' experience in an SMT or PCB assembly environment is preferred
• Technical Skills: Deep understanding of SMT or PCB assembly environments
• Knowledge: Proficient knowledge of soldering processes, reflow profiling, and IPC-610 standards
• Aptitude: Ability to read PCB layouts, Gerber files, and assembly drawings
• General: General knowledge of production techniques, standards, quality control principles and practices
• Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills are required
• Travel: Must have a valid passport and authorization (visa) required to travel to customer locations, and ability to travel up to 20%
• Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, commitment to high standards of workmanship, and strong interpersonal skills
