As the new CWB Weld Supervisor, you will hold a pivotal role in overseeing all daily welding operations, rigorously supporting weld quality and ensuring strict code compliance. A major part of your mission will be helping to ensure that all production work is completed safely, highly efficiently, and to the strict required standards of the industry. We are actively looking for a practical, hands-on leader who can seamlessly support welders and fitters directly on the shop floor.

Responsibilities
• Supervise daily welding activities and support workflow, production team allocation, and scheduling to meet production requirements
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with approved welding procedures, applicable CSA W47 and W59 requirements, and company quality standards
• Provide hands-on technical guidance to welders and fitters, including review of drawings, weld symbols, and fabrication requirements
• Maintain welding program documentation, including welder qualifications, welding logs, inspection records, and procedure documentation
• Coordinate with Quality Control to support inspections, resolve non-conformances, and implement corrective actions
• Promote safe welding practices, proper use of PPE, and a strong shop-floor safety culture
• Identify opportunities to improve weld quality, reduce rework, increase efficiency, and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Mentor and train team members while helping to identify skills gaps and training needs within the manufacturing & logistics department
Qualifications
• Valid CSA welding qualifications or demonstrated experience working within CSA W47/W59 frameworks
• 5+ years of welding experience in a heavy manufacturing or industrial fabrication environment
• 2+ years of supervisory, lead hand, or team leadership experience
• Experience with custom industrial equipment or rotating equipment fabrication is preferred
• Experience with industrial fabrication/heavy manufacturing; aluminum welding experience is considered an asset
• Weld Inspector Level 1 or 2 is considered an asset but is not required
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and inspection requirements
• Familiarity with GMAW and related welding processes such as FCAW, MCAW, and GTAW
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and quality teams in a manufacturing shop environment
• Practical, hands-on leadership approach to effectively support operations in the manufacturing & logistics field
