Our client is currently growing their team and is in need of heavy production labourers as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a long-term career in the manufacturing industry with a company that offers immediate permanent hiring and lots of learning opportunities.
This position requires the employee to work shift work:
Afternoon: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Night: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Payrate : $25.50/hr + Shift Premiums
Responsibilities:
● Operates machinery, equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner
● Identify and retrieve structural steel/rebar from warehouse racks to fill orders
● Feeding and unloading processing machines
● Ensure machine guards are in place and material is handled in a safe manner
● Operation of Overhead Cranes (Training certification required prior to operating)
● Operation of Cutting Saws, Rebar Benders and Shears ( Training Provided)
● Use of a measuring tape to check material lengths and bends in Rebar Steel

Responsibilities
Equipment Operation: Safely operate Overhead Cranes, Cutting Saws, Rebar Benders, and Shears (Training provided for saws/benders/shears).
Machine Handling: Feed and unload processing machines while ensuring machine guards are securely in place.
Material Management: Identify and retrieve structural steel/rebar from warehouse racks to fill orders.
Precision Work: Use measuring tapes to accurately check material lengths and bends in rebar steel.
Safety & Compliance: Use hand/power tools safely, wear all required PPE, and adhere to Section 28 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications
Experience: 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, steel, or construction environment.
Key Skills: Proven experience using measuring tapes, hand tools, power tools, and handling heavy materials.
Certifications: Prior experience or a valid license/certification for Overhead Cranes is highly preferred (Training certification required prior to operating).
Assets: Previous forklift operation, sheet metal experience, or CNC Machine programming experience is a major plus.
Education: High School Diploma / GED equivalent.
Environment: Work is performed in a non-climate-controlled shop and yard environment (temperatures fluctuate with the seasons; must dress appropriately).
Physical Demands: Continuous walking and standing. Repetitive hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Lifting: Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs (23 kg). Must utilize two-man lifts or overhead cranes for loads exceeding safe individual capacity.
Required PPE: approved safety footwear (steel-toes), hard hat, safety glasses, earplugs, and gloves.
