Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end project management for large-scale, high-risk initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Gather and develop comprehensive requirements to create and maintain detailed project schedules and integrated plans.
- Develop complex project budgets across multiple funding channels; monitor, forecast, and reconcile costs to ensure high levels of fiscal control.
- Source and onboard diverse team members, clarifying roles and expectations for both unionized employees and fee-for-service consultants.
- Proactively identify potential risk events, develop mitigation strategies, and prioritize issues for senior executive decision-makers.
- Establish and participate in steering committees and stakeholder forums, providing high-level reporting to executive leadership.
- Utilize strategic actions to overcome resistance to change during all project phases—from concept to close-out.
- Resolve resourcing and interpersonal conflicts, negotiating changes to ensure knowledge sharing and project continuity.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in managing project schedules, deliverables, and scope.
- Extensive experience directing teams to ensure deliverables adhere to organizational and government standards.
- Knowledge of Information Management principles, Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), and I&IT best practices.
- Understanding of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and related standards.
- Proven ability to make informed recommendations on the acquisition of software, hardware, and technology resources.
