We are seeking a high-energy, hands-on Interim Site Controller / Senior Financial Analyst to lead the financial operations for a high-volume service business unit. You will be responsible for overseeing the full cycle of project-based accounting, ensuring rigorous tracking of internal orders, and providing the financial clarity needed to support an $80M–$85M annual operation. This is a pivotal role for a finance professional who thrives in a high-volume environment and excels at operational partnership. This is a 6-12-month contract with the possibility of extension. Role is based on-site in Stoney Creek with an hourly pay rate of $45-55/hr.
...
Advantages
In this role you would serve as the primary financial point of contact for the site, reporting directly to the Regional Controller and Operations Controller.
Responsibilities
Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial statements are accurate and cost exposures are properly assessed.
Manage the financial performance of 15+ active service and repair projects, utilizing SAP internal orders to track actuals versus forecasts and identify deviations.
Prepare comprehensive financial reporting packages ("subpacks") for shared accounting services and regional leadership, ensuring data integrity for Hyperion consolidation.
Partner closely with the Operations Manager, Engineering Manager, and Shop Manager to discuss performance, identify improvement areas, and manage project margins.
Oversee the financial health of three distinct revenue streams: field service, spare parts sales, and the physical repair shop operations.
Perform supplemental adjustments for accruals and conduct diligent balance sheet monitoring to safeguard site assets.
Identify and implement process improvements within SAP (ECC or S4 HANA) to streamline tracking and reporting.
Qualifications
CPA designation is an asset, though equivalent senior-level experience in a controllership or senior analyst role will be considered.
7+ years of progressive accounting and financial analysis experience, with a strong background in a service, repair, or manufacturing environment.
Expert-level proficiency in SAP (ECC or S4 HANA) is mandatory, specifically regarding internal orders and operational tracking.
Previous experience with Hyperion or similar consolidation software is highly preferred.
Proven experience managing "Plan vs. Actual" analysis for high-volume project portfolios (project values typically ranging from thousands to hundreds of thousands).
Soft Skills: A "hands-on" leader who is outspoken and possesses the energy to drive financial conversations with non-finance stakeholders. You must be comfortable "zooming in" to troubleshoot technical SAP issues while "zooming out" to advise on operational strategy. Excellent communication skills are required to effectively bridge the gap between shop-floor operations and regional corporate reporting.
Summary
