Responsibilities
◾Collaborate closely with architects, engineering consultants, and trades throughout project delivery.
◾Assess potential risks early and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
◾Support procurement activities, including material purchasing and subcontractor selection alongside the estimating team.
◾Maintain detailed records of costs, budgets, forecasts, and change orders, while tracking progress against project milestones.
◾Coordinate with the estimating and project coordination teams during bid reviews and award phases.
◾Manage permit applications and coordinate with municipalities and third-party inspectors as needed.
◾Prepare monthly reporting packages covering financials, schedules, and project health indicators for leadership and client updates.
◾Monitor project schedules and update them regularly to reflect real-time progress, potential delays, and recovery strategies.
◾Enforce and audit site safety and quality standards in collaboration with the field team.
◾Lead project meetings, including site coordination, safety discussions, and OAC sessions.
◾Facilitate smooth project close-out, including documentation, warranty management, and turnover packages.
Qualifications
◾Post-secondary education in construction management, civil engineering, or a related discipline.
◾Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent is an asset.
◾5-7 years of hands-on experience managing construction projects, ideally in the ICI or mid-rise sectors.
◾Familiarity with contract types including lump sum and construction management agreements (e.g., CCDC 5A/5B).
◾Solid understanding of Ontario building practices, codes, and permitting processes.
◾Experience with project management platforms such as Fieldwire or ViewPoint is preferred.
◾Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.
◾Proven capability to handle multiple projects while staying organized and detail-focused.
◾Skilled at navigating challenges, resolving conflicts, and driving projects to completion under tight deadlines.
◾Proficiency in MS Office and project scheduling tools.
